Here is a quick introduction to all the Bush Homes of East
Africa.
|
|
Wilderness Trails on Lewa Downs: One of Kenya's major private
conservation successes at the foot of Mt Kenya, on 55,000 acres of private land
encompassing savannah grassland, wetland and indigenous forest in Kenya, East
Africa.
|
Ol Malo: Ol Malo, meaning 'the place of the Greater
Kudu' is the home of Colin and Rocky Francombe. With only four guest cottages,
the hospitality at Ol Malo is outstanding. The Francombes offer their guests a
personal and exclusive experience in this peaceful wilderness.
|
|
Kitich: Kitich Camp lies in the southern part of the
Mathews mountain range, a remote and rarely visited area of Kenya. Elephant, lion,
leopard, greater kudu, waterbuck, forest hog and buffalo are among the species
to be found here together with over 100 species of birds.
|
Rekero: Rekero, the Beaton family home, caters for ten
guests in comfortable thatched cottages with ensuite bathrooms; and they offer
the Rekero Tented Camp - capacity 12 guests. It has some of the finest Masai Mara
scenery and is home to the Maasai and the Il Dorobo.
|
|
Lokitela: Lokitela Farm is on the foothills of Mount Elgon,
the largest but not the highest mountain in Africa. At just over 14,000 ft above
sea level Mt Elgon straddles the Kenya/Uganda border. Mt Elgon caves are well
known for their "salt mining" elephants.
|
Mundui: Mundui's 1,200 acres are set within the boundaries
of a protected wetland, Lake Naivasha - Kenya's award winning Ramsar Site. A paradise
in the Rift Valley. Surrounded by hills to the west and south and overlooking
Lake Naivasha to the east.
|
|
Ol Kanjau: Ol Kanjau is a traditional safari style tented
camp situated just outside Amboseli and is kept as simple as possible so that
you can still "listen to the quiet, smell air clean enough to eat and try to count
a million stars".
|
Tana Delta Camp: Humbled by
the vastness of the surrounding vistas, Tana Delta Camp is snugly cradled amongst
undulating sand dunes standing guard over the pounding surf on the Kenya coast.
|
| Lobolo Camp: Join us in the footsteps
of the 19th century explorers and discover Lake Turkana, “The Jade Sea”
and the mysterious Omo River Valley. By boat, raft, foot and vehicle you will
discover Lake Turkana and its volcanoes, the remote tribes of Kenya, the spectacular
lava field of the Suguta Valley and the glittering Chalbi Desert.
|
Lewa Safari Camp on Lewa Downs: Lewa
Safari Camp is set on the 45,000 acre privately owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy,
Lewa Downs. The conservancy, formerly a working cattle ranch and otherwise known
as Lewa Downs, has been in the Craig family since 1924.
