Ol Kanjau is sited at the end of Africa's largest hill slope, Mt Kilimanjaro, adjacent to Amboseli National Park and is surrounded by a larger area of true African bushland wilderness owned by Kisongo Masai pastoralists who benefit directly when one visits this unrivalled wild open space.

Activities

  • Game drives
  • Bush walks
  • Bird watching
  • Cultural visits to the nearby Masai settlements
  • Following the movement of several known matriarch elephant families at close range.

Amboseli, meaning "salty dust" in Masai, is an ideal medium for following animal tracks.

With just a few hours on foot with an excellent guide, reading the tracks is like reading a well-thumbed book, learning about animal secrets. Following wildlife in Amboseli is an extremely private experience.

Amboseli found at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, is home to a growing population of elephant and the Rainys will introduce you to several of 52 known matriarchal elephant families.
