| THE MOST RECENT LAIKIPIA TO TSAVO SAFARI WITH PATRICK REYNOLDS
Patrick and his guests were delighted when they found they had Solio to themselves. Driving through the Rhino Sanctuary, they came across two stow-away elephants who had broken their way in; Solio is not normally an elephant's grazing grounds.
The Aberdares were rewarding when a well-known old bull elephant gently helped Patrick's move his vehicle out of the way until he found his path. A "wow" moment for Patrick's guests.
Umani Springs stopover was a great success, with interesting walks in the forest seeing loads of birds and wildflowers. The Tsavo area also had its fair share of game, 15 dikdik must have been having a summit as normally they are seen in twos or threes.
Predator activity was in full swing, with lions warning off approaching visitors, cheetah leaving calling cards on favourite trees and jackals seen in large numbers. Also seen were lots of small herds of buffalo back on the river, as were Lesser Kudu bulls.
In all a successful safari!
Warm wishes and best regards from Patrick Reynolds.
