RICHARD'S CAMP
MASAI MARA |
Originally built as the Robert's home while
carrying out conservation work in the Mara, Richard's Camp is a
classic tented camp which provides today’s explorer with many
modern conveniences, yet retains the pioneer traditions of comfort
and hospitality. Tucked away in the edge of a beautiful forest,
elephant and plains game are regular visitors to the camp’s
perimeter and bird life abounds. |

Accommodation
is in up to six individually decorated, luxurious and spacious en
suite tents, each with large veranda and 24-hour solar powered light.
At the end of a rewarding day guests can indulge, surrounded by
flickering candles and the sounds of the bush, in an open air Victorian
bath situated in the forest where the canopy of trees opens to reveal
the breath-taking African night sky.
Richard’s camp is owned and hosted by Richard
Roberts and his partner Liz Fusco. Richard was raised in the Masai
Mara and it is his intimate knowledge of the bush and the Masai
people, together with the traditional Kenyan warm hospitality, which
ensures guests a very special experience. Your day is designed to
be as relaxing or as exciting as you wish.

Richard and his family have been instrumental
in preserving the valuable eco-system in this area. In 1992 Richard’s
father, Willy, helped form the Community Conservation Area on which
the camp is located. Conservation is also a major concern for Richard
and Liz and a portion of every guest’s overnight stay cost
goes to the conservation association entrusted with the management
and safe guarding of the area. |
